Tech N9ne - All 6’s and 7’s - Strange Music

“All 6’s and 7’s” does have a more mainstream feel than previous Tech N9ne albums. This is probably why it’s getting mainstream recognition, however fans will not be disappointed. This album is loaded with feature artists and talented producers and Tech combines their individual sounds with his to make an album that is musically outstanding and is a true testament to the fact… Tech N9ne is easily one of the most underrated rappers out there. “Am I a Psycho”, featuring B.O.B and Hopsin, showcases the immense talent Tech has as a lyricist. His ability to tell a story so well that the listener envisions the events as they play out is a skill that many try to achieve but usually fail. “Mental Giant”, sure to be loved by “Tech fans”, has that drum line sound that Tech is known for. One of the most impressive things about Tech N9ne is his ability to rap melodically. Tech has this amazing way of switching the melody within his rap that is rarely seen elsewhere. “World Wide Choppers” is an ode to the quickest spitters in hip-hop featuring Twista, Yelawolf, Busta Rhymes, Ceza, D-Loc, Twisted Insane, U$O, and JL of B Hood and is so impressively quick it’s hard to understand half of what is being said. “Fuck Food” featuring Lil’ Wayne and T-Pain, caused a stir when it was first released because it goes against the “rules” of mainstream with its explicit lyrics and sexual content. However, this track is nothing less than what Tech N9ne fans have come to expect from him. Tech’s lyrics usually are explicit and loaded with sexual content. “Pornographic” which features E-40 and Snoop Dog, has a laid back feel to it and E-40 brings back the old E-40 sound right down to the “Biatch”. “All 6’s and 7’s” but as Tech himself says “I’m light years ahead of my peers.” should be the album to get Tech N9ne the mainstream recognition he so rightly deserves. – Jamie Candelaria
