The always unique and progressive icon DEVIN TOWNSEND is set to kick-off his first ever solo-headlining tour across the United States this Friday. The trek is set to span HEVY DEVY’s solo career and even new material from his forthcoming InsideOut albums. The tour is going to feature support from the UK’s brightest band – the mighty TESSERACT.
This tour is sure to be one for the ages with TOWNSEND commenting:
“Hey there ladies and gents. Devin Townsend here. Our North American tour starts in 2 days, and I'm very excited to play on stage again! It's a short tour, but I believe that nowadays, records are almost an advertisement for your live performance, so we hope anyone who has been interested would consider coming out. We have been working on some new songs and making sure our sound is in great shape for our full, headlining set.
This is our second run in North America this year, the first was with BTBAM and Cynic, and we would also love to see some faces from those shows as well!
Before every show I am doing 'VIP' talks with acoustic stuff, if you got tickets for that, it should be interesting... and of course, I'll sign whatever you want after the actual shows as well. The show is about an hour and a half worth of stuff, and we've tried to give a good cross section of the material... the hope for the future is to tour a lot, and building an audience is pretty much one at a time for any band, so please check out the music on youtube or however you do if you're not familiar with it, and then maybe bring the whole family :)
There are currently talks about bringing the band to many places next year, so if we haven't had a chance to rock together, hopefully we will soon.”
