ARMY OF PIT SOLDIERS
FEATURE BAND OF THE MONTH
By Benji Womack - Your Music Magazine/Army of Pit Soldiers Presents: SKRIBBLE

11/05/06
Ok, first let me start by saying I'm sorry to the ones that have missed the Army Of Pit Soldiers Feature band of the month for the last couple of issues, because there were none. But not this month. This month I bring you something unexpected but quite exciting…the band Skribble. Skribble has been around the Sacramento scene for several years now, ripping the mosh pits apart. They half-struggled in the past with a few line up changes. Not too long ago they brought in the former drummer of the band Forktung, Mike Filipino, which was a smart addition to the band. In the last couple of months they have added former Innocence vocalist Chad Cornell, and former Innocence guitarist Russ Cornell, which makes this band unstoppable, although it's different for me seeing Chad share the mike, he does indeed do this in Skribble with Chris Richards. I really believe in my heart this band will finally hold a line-up together, because this one is as strong as they get. The talent that is put together in this band should give them an unstoppable path to success.

SKRIBBLE BIO
Sacramento's own Skribble revels in a passionate display of chaotic and abusive metal, dispelling conventionality and the standards in which society attempts to contain them. Their sound consists of many layers, concocting a final collective countenance that defies moral obligation. Skribble, formed in 1999 but with roots that go even further back, consists of six members that feed off each other musically, building entire compositions. Chad Cornell and Chris Richards assault your ears with aggressive lead vocals, providing variance and originality. Skribble has promoted Cody Walker to the ranks of guitar players (formerly bass to now full time shredder), adding balance, from twisted harmonies to unexpected breakdowns. Also added to guitar is the ultra-talented Russ Cornell to add that old school shred. All the while Mike Filipino fiercely pounds out the tempo on the drums, maintaining order in the surrounding chaos. Last but not least, Jeff Yeager carries on with more of the same vehemence on bass guitar, giving the band an unmatchable depth, and crunching rhythm that compliments the entire Skribble package perfectly. At just over 6 years old now, Skribble has plugged into the club circuit, scorching through the Sacramento (home sweet home to the entire lot of them) & Northern California metal scene in true wild fire form. Skribble has shared the stage with names such as Cryptopsy, Silent Civilian, Bleed the Sky, With Passion, Abysmal Dawn, Conducting from the Grave, Goatwhore, Skinlab, Violence, and Pissing Razors, to name a few. Ranging in age from their early twenties on, Skribble has proven dedicated to advancing steadily, and quickly, overcoming any obstacle thrown in their way. In essence, their priority is simply to have fun doing what they love, keeping each crowd they play captivated and lusting for their next performance. Catch a performance and you can easily see where the flame for this dedication is fanned. They welcome all reviews, personal and press, as they pave the way for major bragging rights.
