On April 18th at Henfling’s Tavern Honest Mistake shook the place ‘til the walls came crashing down.  Although The Splatters started off the night with a rousing rock set, this show belonged to Honest Mistake and their fans.  I don’t know if you’ve ever seen over 200 people at a Henflings show, but I did on Friday.  The audience couldn’t get enough of HM, singing the words to every song and groovin’ to the rock/funk/punk beats.  Special thanks to Ty Oliver for filling in on short notice for The Harmony Kills (who broke up unexpectedly).  Congratulations to Honest Mistake, they’re the band to beat in 2008!

We had our 2nd show at The Windjammer on Saturday, April 19th.  The BarNickels opened the show with their brand of surf punk, and as usual they didn’t disappoint.  But as good as the BarNickels were, Wet Umbrella brought the crowd and owned the night.  With a talented singer and danceable tunes, Wet Umbrella brought a fun atmosphere to a small club setting.  These guys won’t be in the Finals this year, but they proved themselves to us at the magazine and will be given more opportunities to succeed in the future.
