INTERVIEW WITH DOLLFLESH
Interview by Benji Womack- Your Music Magazine and Army Of Pit Soldiers Presents
June 15th 2005
Ok I lot of people do not know who Dollflesh is, but you will soon , Dollflesh is a sick ass band out of Brazil, and happens to be the band that got me started in the Biz, the first thing I ever did in music was bring this band out here for 30 days and toured them with a local band called Low Budget out of Fairfield CA, it was not a great tour , but it was one hell of a good time, they deserve a lot of recognition, and you should check them out ASAP.

Dollflesh are as follows
Dr. P. Droy Evil - throath, synths and computers
Pedro Xú - guitars
Henrique Pucci - drums and computers
Dektri - synths ands keyboards
Gui - bass

Benji:-Ok first off can you state your name and band name for the record?
Droeee- Dr. P. Droy Evil, singer and programmer Dollflesh

Benji:-In your opinion is the metal world living or dieing?
Droeee- Living, for sure. Yesterday I was in a show, just with undergrounds bands, and the place was full!

Benji:-What changes if any have to be made to the music industry?
Droeee -Cheaper CD ..s. In Brazil the prices of one cd it..s like 10% of Brazilian minimum wage!

Benji:-Tell me how you guys ended up getting together and who are the rest of the line up?
Droeee -It's a long history. I and Pedro Xu used to play in another band, called Mass Fusion, and we decided part ways with them to make another kind of sound. We played with a bass player girl called Flavia Pucci and a guy called Pato in drums. We played with that line up for one year long.
Droeee:-So Pato decided played in another band, called Dance of Days (a famous band around here) and we fired Flavia. So we met Gui at Pedro..s college and Gui invited to Henrique to join Dollflesh. We are playing together for almost seven years, now.
Droeee This year we invited Dektri to play keyboards, he used to play in a band called The Worman and we really like his work he did with them. Dektri joined the band and I quit playing keyboards in stage.

Benji:-Tell how is it being in a band in Brazil; are there a lot of metal bands out there and venues to play?
Droeee:-Yeah, there is lot of bands here. Bands like E>D>C, Are you God?, Chipset Zero (alternative metal) and a lot of bands of classic herby metal. I like the both styles. There's some venues here, not so much, but the scene is better than seven ago, absolutely.
Droeee -And there's a lot of hardcore bands too. Emocore, and all that shit. That scene is way big here.

Benji:-Tell what does this kind of music represent to you and why do you play music in the first place?
Droeee:-Playing music to me is like take a shit, eat, sleep and fuck. I need do it, for physiologic reasons. I chose this kind of music because it's the better way to express myself.
Droeee- It's angry and furious, so I can calm down after playing. It's like a exorcism.

Benji:-What are your fears and why?
Droeee:-I fear myself. I have auto-destructive instinct that I thought was dead, but it's not.
Droeee-When everything is right I need destruct everything to build up again.

Benji:-So how many albums does Dollflesh have out and is there any in the near future getting ready to release?
Droeee:-We have one album, a lot of remixes in net and we are recording another album now. its going to be called "Fleshback: using the tools" and we are going to release till the end of this year...

Benji:-Tell me about your experience in the U.S honestly and any new plans to come back??
Droeee -I loved went to USA. I really enjoy the place and people. It was hard get for 5 days without a shower, but that was cool...
Droeee -I loved the shows at cheers, in Vacaville and in Sacramento, the last one we did. Our cultures are very different, and I love to check these differences. People in America worships freedom, even having less freedom than Brazilians, and American patriotism it's great. I just thought America can free his mind for another countries and cultures,
Droeee -it's terrible knowing people doesn't know so muck thing about another countries in South America. I met a girl that said to me Mexico and Brazil it's the same shit. She didn't even know we speak Portuguese and not Spanish!
Droeee-We want come back in next year, in summer.

Benji:-What CD do you have in your CD player right now?
Droeee -Smoosh, Iggy Pop, Kraftwerk, Hatebreed, Refused. I listen to all kinds of music.
Droeee- And I'm listening so much Brazilian music. Caetano, Chico Buarque.
Droeee-I love reggae and dub too.
Benji:-What is the show you always dreamed of playing, what would the line up be?
Droeee -I'd love playing with Ministry, Radiohead, Kraftwerk and Dresden Dolls. All those bands and Dollflesh. Lol...
Droeee:-all those bands

Benji:-Tell me the feeling you have deep down inside of you soul when you are on that stage performing in front of all Dollflesh fans?
Droeee -I feel like Dionysius. That's not a hippie, shit. I feel Dionysius power every time I'm on a stage. It's not just me who's playing. I think this power it's way easy to feel, it's just open your heart and feel that. It's a very destructive/constructive power.

Benji-Ok Droeee that's is you can catch this interview in next months issue of Your Music Magazine, do me a favor and say Your Music Magazine kicks ass in Portuguese
Droeee-Your Music Magazine é do caralho!!!!
